Living it, Changing it, Wearing it

Hi, I’m June – founder, maker, tea-drinker, and jewellery enthusiast behind The Small Jewellery Company.

When I first started back in 2006, things looked a little different. I was buying ready-made pieces and hosting jewellery parties (yes, those were a thing – and yes, they were as fun as they sound).

Fast forward to 2020, lockdown gave me the chance to finally chase the dream I’d been putting off: learning how to make jewellery. After signing up for an online Silversmithing Diploma, followed it up with a Fine Jewellery Diploma and hours of practising. I discovered the joy (and occasional frustration) of working with fire, metal, and gemstones.

For me, jewellery is all about effortless transformation. I love bold, unusual designs that spark conversations and make people smile. In another life, maybe I’d have been a painter – but in this one, I get to turn silver, copper and gold into wearable art.

My designs reflect my love of marrying metals, creating textures and showing how organic metal can be despite its stiffness.

All pieces have been handcrafted locally from recycled gold and sterling silver, because looking good shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense. Think simple, striking rings and pendants with textures, gemstones, and clean lines that go with everything.

So, whether you’re here to find that one standout piece or to add a little sparkle to your everyday, welcome – you’re in the right place.
